This is the last Movie Monday for this semester (no movie during finals week). This TED talk is a three and a half minute compilation of how TEDsters think they became successful. Some good advice from some VERY smart people for the end of the semester (and for life!).

I enjoyed this movie. Although it was short it was straight to the point. I liked his description of CRAP and the fact that mothers were invented for pushing. He has a good sense of humor and I thought this was a good movie to end the semester.

I agree, this was a nice way to end our Movie Mondays. This was short, sweet and to the point. I liked that he said “it is not always easy to push yourself and that’s why they invented mothers.” I think we can all relate to that. Also, it is important for those of us nearing graduation to remember that passion, doing things for love and not money, leads to success.

This just seems innate, this concept of success. It is just really neat to someone put it all together and present it in a way that can easily be understood.

I thought this Movie Monday was a fabulous way to end this semester! It is about something everyone can relate to because everyone wants to succeed in life, well at least I hope everyone! I thought it was short, but got to the point. It was funny that it took him 7 years and 500 interviews to define what success is in just 3 short minutes! My favorite thing he listed was when he talked about having your mother push you when you need that extra help
I think that as long as someone has passion and really wants something, they can find success in themselves!!

I thought this was a nice movie to end off the semester too. It got right to the point and was easy to understand. Who doesn’t want to succeed in life and im sure everyone has a mother pushing them for a little extra help!

I’m glad I finally had someone tell me the secrets to success! If only I had more passion and motivation so that I can be successful. Perhaps I’m just in a rut.

Like Ashley Moyer (first responder) I liked the idea of CRAP and mothers invented as life’s pushers. I also enjoyed how Richard St.John had simple examples from highly successful people. These examples made people like Bill Gates seem to create success from a simple idea rather than something gradiose and unattainable.

Thanks for this movie. I think it’s going to help us all to get through this last week. I agree that in order to be successful we have to do all eight. This is a good movie to show to students, especially if they feel they cannot accomplish anything. Well here we have the secret to it, and the most important thing is that it lies within us.

This really was a good short movie to end the semester with. It was very interesting the steps people believe got them to be successful such as persistence, being focused, and my favorite mom pushing. That was pretty funny. I also enjoyed the description of CRAP. I’ll probably remember that forever. It’s been a good semester watching all these interesting videos. Thank you.

I liked this video. Everyone seems to be striving for success and instead of prolonging the talk into an hour he gave a short concise view of the things that can lead us to success, from people who have found it in their own lives.

I think all the things he pointed out that lead to success make lots of sense. I especially think passion, going for love not money and persistence are very very important for succeeding in all kinds of things. Good to know these things!

That video was so cute! It pointed out all the things necessary and got right to the point. I like how his inspiration was based off a girl he met in the airplane. The CRAP aspect was funny also especially for what it stands for.

I love how he was so enthuastic and optimistic.
I think thats also how people need to be to succeed.
His description of CRAP ( Critiscism Rejection Assholes Pressure) was funny but people do need to get persist through all of this.
I really agree that we need to do this to succeed people must have a passion for what they do and to get there we need to push ourselves.

I really enjoyed this video! (and not just because it was really short!!)
He was adorable and just got right in and said what he felt was important. I agree that I do really appreciated the fact that he went out and did all of these interviews just because a young girl asked him a question he didn’t feel he could properly answer. I think that all the steps/aspects of success were right on point! He was passionate himself and really got his message across, which is quite an feat in 3 minutes!

Its hard to believe that you can start planning for success in three minutes, but it Richard St. John pulls it off. Eight steps to a successful life, this almost seems to good to be true. And wow, a ticket for TED cost $1000, thank goodness for these Internet clips. Now if you would excuss me, I going to go find something I’m passionate about to make me the next millionaire.

I really enjoyed this movie Monday. It was straight to the point. He opened it up with a great story line about the girl on the plane asking how to be successful and led to asking 500 people and forming 8 words that lead to success. I liked the idea that he asked some very well and very smart people this question. I think it made people feel and realize that smart people and famous people are real human beings too and being successful did not come easy to them, there were many things they had to do in order to become successful. I also thought that was a great way to end the semester on an uplifting note and hopefully if we all work hard and studying for our finals we will all be successful.

I really liked this clip. i think above all, passion leads the most success, if you love what you do, you are pushed to get better and like he said the money will come. i thought it was really impressive that he interviewed 500 people, one of the being Bill Gates. If everyone acted on ideas they had the world would be a much more interesting advanced place. finally i thought that he was a great speaker and with what he said in three min really inspired me. i think that by going around to high school students and talking in detail about how to become successful is great. high schoolers are the perfect age to present this too because it is not yet too late for them.

I really liked how short and to the point this was. I really believe passion and persistance are the two most important things leading to success or happiness.
