It’s midterm week folks, so this one’s just for fun! It’s short (so you have more time to study- ha!), but hopefully it will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face. Instead of the mainstream (and sometimes boring) photographs of people standing in front of interesting sights from different countries – Matt does a little dance. He put his video on You Tube and everyone loved it so much that he got a sponsor and people all over the world came out to dance with Matt.
Click on the link at the right to access the video. It works best if you click on the “watch in high quality” first (it’s at bottom of the video on the right lower corner).
No need to comment (unless you want to for fun), simply ENJOY! (And good luck on your midterms this week).
Wow! Interesting video! I am not sure as to what I am suppose to comment about this. I did read in the side box that Matt traveled for 14 months around the world, and hit up 42 countries. He danced with people from each country. I thought it was neat that he was able to experience such a trip and encounter so many cultures. He was able to interact with people that probably did not speak English, but was able to “communicate” through dance. I thought that was a pretty unique way to connect with people who do not speak your native language. He got to visit amazing places too!

Haha I loved this! Great, fun video of people dancing and having a good time anywhere and everywhere and in any weather! What an experience this must have been for Matt! I enjoyed watching this, it put a smile on my face and made me want to dance (and travel)!

What a way to connect with people from any culture! Dancing is so primative, and is still such an integral part of the human soul that, no matter where one goes, anyone can connect on that level.

It did make me laugh! I remember seeing a short clip in the news and thinking how funny his dance was. It is great to see that something that started so little could grow and get international attention.

This weeks movie was funny and very cool. I would love to travel around the world and break into random dance and have everyone join along! Fun, fun, fun!

I watched the conference after the video where Matt explains how all this came about and although a project like this might have more profound meaning, he explained it as doing something more interesting than just taking pictures in front of monuments. It’s invigorating to see that joy and happiness are universal and people can be happy just dancing together from here to Timbuktu.
(Oh, and at the end of Matt’s conference he had everyone come up on stage and dance with him.)

this was a very funny video. I watched a short lecture he gave about this whole thing and it gave the whole background of how it started and how stride gum came to sponsor his 14 month trip.

Wow! That was fabulous!! That video made me happy and a little jealous! I wish I could just go around to all of those places! Not sure about the dancing thing
Seriously though how did he get all of those people to dance with him. My favorite part was probable the no gravity dancing!

even though this was the shortest video we have seen, I feel it was one of the most inspiring. i guess it is just comforting to know that while so many people are getting away with doing bad things, this guy matt is getting away with doing this. it’s nice to see that there is still some humanity left in this world. i don’t know why exactly, (maby because all i watch on tv anymore seems to be death and drama), but seeing all those different people dancing together made me feel a little better about myself. thanks matt

The movie was interesting. I also watched the interview with Matt. I know how he got into this dancing video. I am so jealous that he could go so many countries for free. Weird things are everywhere. I still cannot figure out how he got so famous but I guess everything is possible.

You really can’t help smiling and laughing, it is fabulous to have that kind of interaction with people, dancing. I love his dorky dance, makes it so that eveyone can dance however and not feel self-concious. And hey, people all over the world sure know how to get down!
